Terms of use
Last updated 28 October 2026
These terms cover your use of Shelf Test at shelftest.in, run by Arnav Avi in India. By signing in or buying a report, you agree to them.
01What Shelf Test does
You describe a direct-to-consumer product idea and answer a short quiz. Shelf Test then writes a report on whether the idea holds up in the Indian market, using marketing frameworks, live web research and an AI model. Part of each report is free. The full report costs ₹49, as set out in clause 04.
02Your account
You need an account to run a test. Sign in with Google or with your email. Keep your sign-in to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be 18 or older to use Shelf Test.
03Reports are guidance, not advice
Reports are written by an AI model from what you tell us and what is found online. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. They are not financial, legal, tax or regulatory advice. Check anything important yourself, follow the source links in the report, and speak to a qualified professional before you spend money or sign anything.
A verdict of Go, Pivot or No-go is an opinion on the idea as described. It is not a promise that the idea will or will not succeed.
04Price and payment
The full report for one test costs ₹49, including all taxes. It is a one-time payment, not a subscription, and unlocks that test's full report for as long as your account exists. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we never see or store your card or UPI details.
Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
05Your ideas stay yours
You own the ideas and answers you enter. You give us permission to store and process them only to write, show and improve your reports. Your tests are private to your account. We do not sell your ideas or publish them.
To write a report, parts of your idea are sent to the services listed in our privacy policy, such as the AI model and the web search. Do not enter anything you are not allowed to share, such as someone else's confidential information.
06Fair use
Do not misuse Shelf Test: no attempts to break or overload it, get around the paywall or usage limits, scrape it, resell reports as a service, or enter unlawful or abusive content. To keep the service running for everyone, there are limits on how many tests you can run each day. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
07Availability and changes
We work to keep Shelf Test running, but it may sometimes be unavailable or change. We may update features, limits or prices. A price change never affects a report you have already paid for.
08Limits on our liability
Shelf Test is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any business, financial or indirect loss arising from decisions you make using a report. If we are found liable to you, the most we owe is the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Indian consumer law that cannot be limited.
09Ending your account
You can delete any test from My shelf at any time. To delete your account, email arnav.avi31@gmail.com. We may close accounts that break these terms.
10Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Gurugram, Haryana have jurisdiction over any dispute. Before going to court, please email arnav.avi31@gmail.com so we can try to fix it.
11Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell signed-in users on the site before it applies.
